Tights Pant

Why ride jockeys wearing pantyhose / tights under their trousers (pants)? When this tradition started?

I've heard this. In Indeed, William Shatner has said personally, he is wearing tights, when horses shafing prevent riding. I do not know when the tradition started, but I am here because of the Imagination the taboo surrounding most male jockeys who want to have to learn too much cover-up.
