Will cotton denim shorts stretch?

I found a pair of bermuda shorts that fit my long legs perfectly – the only thing is they clinch my waist a bit. They’re 100% cotton, will they stretch or should I just return them?

THE WILL A LITTLE, BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO WEAR THEM A LOT. AND DON’T GET THEM DIRTY BECAUSE THEY WILL SHRINK A LOT WHEN YOU WASH THEM
