Is this Burberry jacket authentic?

I think it is cute and want to buy it, but think it is overpriced if it is a fake. Any way to tell?

Hi there On authentic Burberry products the Burberry logo should always be in capital letters and the word London should be capitalised under it. It is never spelt Burberry alone, or Burberrys or burbery. Most authentic coats and jackets from Burberry will be made in London, it shouldn’t say made in Great Britain or made in China, though some Burberry bags are made in China. The hang tag should be attached firmly to the coat and cannot be taken off simply by pulling or tugging, but has to be cut off with a pair of scissors.

The biggest clue is that the Burberry logo will have a rat tail or small horizontal line (a serif) extending from the R’s on the left hand side which is their serif font. If it doesn’t have this, then it is not authentic Burberry. All Burberry products are made of high quality materials and the buttons and stitching should be sturdy, solid and not come loose. However, there’s no way to tell that until you get the item. All Burberry items will also have a unique serial number (with the date of manufacture) on the label inside it. Ask the seller for this number.

But, there’s really no way to tell and on eBay chances are that Burberry merchandise are fake. To me, it look authentic but the ridiculously low starting price is suspicious. Burberry coats and jackets are usually well over $500 often between $500-$1000. Hopefully, if it turns out to be a fake, you’ll be covered by eBay. But to be sure you’re always purchasing authentic Burberry buy from a Burberry boutique, its online store or Saks Avenue.
