how do i sew the waist of jeans to make them tighter?
my daughters jeans are too big around the waist how do i sew them to make them fit
If she’s going to wear a belt, the easiest thing to do is to take a dart behind the front pockets and in front of the side seam.
If you don’t mind the back elastic look, another easy method is to find some elastic about 1/2″ narrower than the waistband. Stretch the elastic several times, then cut it about 10% shorter than you want the finished back measurement. Sew one end of the elastic to the inside of the waistband at one side seam, the other at the other side seam. Now stitch the elastic across the back waistband, several rows, stopping and starting at each belt loop (so you don’t have to take off the belt loops.
Or starting at about 2″ from center front, unstitch the waistband from the pants. Take out the length that is surplus, and restitch the waistband to the pants.
