What color should I paint a small room with blue-gray carpet and dark brown cabinets?

It is a living room open to the kitchen, the floor has a dark Gray.

Gosh, what a choice. I think a soft yellow. I have blue-gray carpet and I do not like. I bought a large rug, the majority cover them. If you're not a man, you could try something soft lavender shade. It would work. Dont worry about the cabinets. Try some throw rugs (Large size) with different shades in them, and it would be more color to the room.
