Blue Purple

Is the color indigo more blue or purple?

I have to write an essay and I need to know if indigo is more blue or purple, and whether or not is a good color to describe the ocean.

Indigo falls between blue and violet on the color wheel. It’s a bluish-purple. Mixing 3 parts blue paint and one part red will give you indigo.
